Buddy you were trying to compare being a cop, paramedic, and firefighter to what I do for a living and there is nothing in the civilian world except being a PMC operator that can compare.

More people have died through history from what I'm doing than any crabber or loggers. Granteds it's a far cry from pencil pushing but anyone who has been to war can tell you that it is the most dangerous job on earth being in the combat arms. You can die from pertty anything from just a simple humvee roll over to a bullet in the head.

When we Pledge Alligance to the Flag of the United States of America, We are pledging alligance to our Nation. The Flag represents those who have died for this Nation.By the way, when I go to school everyday, whenever we are supposed to stand up and say the Pledge of Alligance. Almost no one actually says the Pledge. Some stay in their seats, some stand and don't do anything. But, myself and a few others stand and say the Pledge while looking at the Flag. Patriotism is hard to come by.

is it just my opinion or is it that British Marines get all the action these men are badass
NewRiverValleyEMT(December 3, 2008 at 10:16 pm)
We all serve this country. The only differences being you risk your life by unknown assailants, IED's, VBIED's, EFP's, RPG's, you name it. You're representing this nation every time you go oversees. You have probablly been to Iraq/Afghanistan as many times as I've been to Lousisana, East-Texas, Southern Florida, or to the wildfires out west or in Georgia or Florida- protecting lives and property- protecting American Citizens. You fight for this country, I don't.
NewRiverValleyEMT(December 3, 2008 at 10:13 pm)
I'm not sure if I understand what you meant by the last half of your comment. This WHOLE conversation was started because I was trying to say that it isn't only Soldiers who serve their country. If you go to FDNY, you'll see American Flags EVERYWHERE, if you go my EMS Agency(Regional EMS)-we serve ALL of pulaski county out of 5 stations. All of our turnout gear has the American Flag on it, all of our trucks have the American Flag inside it, every police car, every Fire Department.
NewRiverValleyEMT(December 3, 2008 at 10:02 pm)
Actually Crab Fishing is the most dangerous job on earth, second comes Logging, and I'm not sure what 3rd is.

Kid I never said I joined for my nation. Also I joined long before ACUs were in use. I joined because I was 19 and had no direction. Now I'm a squad SSG and I take care of 12 guys. You could never do what I do. It's more than patching up their wounds. You're a big brother and sometimes a headmaster. You're a teacher to new and untested. You could never understand what my job is until you've been through what me and every other combat infantryman has been through.
2TheMax051(December 3, 2008 at 12:57 pm)
Yes it is more dangerous. Kid you're trying to compare everything to the most dagerous job on earth and my job is the most dangerous job on earth.

NewRiverValleyEMT,No You swear you allegiance to the flag.QUOTE:"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America"Only a fool would swear allegiance to a flag. And as for the justice and law for all part LMAO! I cant believe you guys say that every day!
Youre all either 100% ignorant biggest or pure liars. I chose the latter.
NewRiverValleyEMT(December 3, 2008 at 4:26 am)
By saluting the flag we are swearing our life to our country. And no, he wasn't tending to his wife, he was trying to get the gun out, thus why it was important to incapacitate him.
