If these were blanks the C7's and other weapons would need BFA (Blank Firing attachments) or you'd have to cock the round after every round fired. You would see the BFA on the end of the muzzle/flash supressor's of the weapons. And the C7 sounds like a "pop" gun firing blanks.

What do you mean why is the US giving Canada weapons? Our rifles ae made by Diameco know Colt Canada. The C7 series of rilfes is based on the M16 but made in Canada. THe C6 and C9 are made by Fabrique National. Just because one weapon looks like anohter doesn't mean they are made by the same company. Some tims one company buys the rights to make another weapon or other kit. Overall Canada doesn't have a big defence industry so we can't make/build all our kit here.
