Biggest fan of Burt Bacharach in the world!!!Love all the original artists and know why Burt chose them to sing for him - because they all have tremendous vocal talent.Sheryl Crow's vocal ability is outstanding and she sings this song sensitively and beautifully - it doesn't take away from what went before, just adds to Burt's ability to still pick up outstanding vocalists to bring his music alive

I absolutely agree; no one (not even Streisand's duet with herself on this one) can touch the haunting arrangement and harmonies of the 5th Dimension. They do infact 'own' it.

I like Sheryl. This is a nice, pleasant version of the song but Marilyn McCoo and The Fifth Demension OWN this song. Their version is more haunting and you can really feel the heartache.

Sheryl Crow can sing it, but she can't handle the complex emotion changes of the song. The emotional range that goes on here is one of the most complex of any pop song. Marilyn McCoo had the chops for this, and it's still hers. Sorry Sheryl.
