im 13 right now and i obviously was never around in the ninties to witness the grunge and good punk rebel generation enflame, though music now is gone to shit. but i am proud to be a fan of truly great music such as nirvana, zeppelin, beatles, metallica (old 80's metallica)and just all the greats..... i mean what do we have now? i mean slipknot and disturbed are o.k, im a true fuckin metal head and that aint metal, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath is FUCKING METAL!

But the sole reason they hired Pat Smear was for live performances because his heroine fried brain couldn't remember all his songs.

Cobain had an ear for catchy music and a punk sensibility. He was a guy who could write a great, catchy song in his sleep. Genius? I don't know. Amazing and beautiful? yes and yes. Stop putting the man on a pedestal and realize what it was that MADE him so good.
