Man, they are definitely saying "Na ge" (if they are Southern) or "Nei ge) (if they are from the North). The characters are, "那个" literally meaning: "that one...". I think the best translation would be to think of it as if you were an English speaker and you lost your train of thought and kept repeating "that".

It has a different meaning in Cantonese and Mandarin. In Cantonese, I guess "nei go" means "your." "nei ge" means "that one" in Mandarin, though. Different pronounciations, different meanings. :)

...it's pronounced "Na yi ge". There's slang mandarin, which slurrs the Na and Yi into Nei. In cantonese, it's "go go"

"nei ge" is "that one" in mandarin. there is no "nei ge" in cantonese. It only sound like they're saying nigga when fluent people say it real fast.
