I'd say that Syntax sounds, vocally, like an amalgamation of the Michael Hutchence, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley and Colin Devlin of The Devlins (*see the "Batman Forever" soundtrack). Overall, the musical style seems like the lovechild of U2, Depeche Mode, The Pet Shop Boys, Garbage, more recent George Micheal, and maybe Delirium... Of course, David Bowie can always be found in today's digital sound, being such a massive influence on the world of modern music.
