I heard this song many years ago. I was turned on to chris Rea from a friend who was murdered in 1990 . I married his sister. The message I get from this song is a family living in a dangerous city like L'A. and the father decides he MUST do domething to get his family to a safer and more wholesome place to raise his family . Very admirable aND SMART . MOST LOSERES DON'T HAVE THE BALLS TO DO THAT.
