I think this is sometime after the Longbeach concert that was recorded for "Leon LIVE".
I'm not sure but I think that is someone other than Jim Gordon on drums and Don Preston on bass. They left the band to join Eric Clapton in "Derek and the Dominos". They were still with Leon when "LIVE" was recorded.
What a great band!

Nobody plays sings and stares into the eyes of the audience like Leon. I always thought he was looking right at me. Fantastic performer, his own man and one of the greatest on the keyboards.

Isn't this from "Leon Live" recorded in Long Beach California around 1970? Leon comes through Detroit regularly. If you're from the Motor City, catch him at the Magic Bag in Ferndale. Saw 2 years ago, he was great.

Leon, a genius, somehow forgotten. He's amazing. His piano is amazing. People sing his songs and no one knows they're his. He sings other people's songs better than the original. Listen to Leon, then Dylan's original - Leon is better!!!Leon has debilitating arthritis? Doesn't matter. The best singer, best musician...
