journey to the west is the best chinese literature ever. the forbidden kingdom has monkey king in it, but the story its just weird...hope to see a real movie based on the actual novel.

It should make more sense if you look up the legend of Son Goku. I don't remember what the legend is really called, but if you look up "Son Goku" and read about it, it should help.
