at 4:40 he begins to break boundaries that jimi couldn't even imagine

he had better tone AND didn't use gimmicks to achieve it

srv doesnt come close...not by a long shot...and he wasnt original...randy rhoads was original, tom morello(not a fantastic guitarist but innovative)...srv didnt innovate...

i fully acknowledge hendrix's greatness and i am one who personally feels vaughan comes ever so close to hendrix but inevitably falls short. but in my mind i know those two cannot be compared, no great mind can be justifiably compared to another great mind. however, i also know not to question vaughan's originality, which is evident. that is the main argument, not my knowledge (or supposed lack) of musical history.

wow...what a show of vocabulary excellence and astute line of thought...Im a lot more educated in music than you I can see...you probably have no clue about delta blues, robert johnson, howlin wolf, elmore james, furry lewis, son house,leadbelly,etc...or jeff beck,cream,etc...srv is a good guitarist but not a great musician...and as a closing point, see hendrix's 12 string acoustic version of hear my train comin and maybe that WASP mind will finally open up and say: so thats greatness...

your ignorance and astounding hubris is upsetting and even more so disappointing; disappointing in the sense that you are allowed to exhale such stupidity through your existence.

in other words, shut the fuck up you stupid fuck.
mizfit99 (November 19, 2008 at 1:22 am)
hey yo.... shut the fuck up

boy he can make those strings sing. can't he?
FranciscoBonito (November 19, 2008 at 1:11 am)
I know pretty well his style...and for some reason his covers are more recognized than his cough cough "original" work...even the way he dressed...come on...he was obsessed with being hendrix...
littlemegmeg (November 19, 2008 at 1:05 am)
are you SERIOUS??? you must not own any of SRV's ORIGINAL music. Their styles are COMPLETELY different. Maybe a couple of the songs you identify SRV with just happen to be covers. but you need a serious reality check if this is the case. There is no comparison between the two because they are so different.
FranciscoBonito (November 19, 2008 at 1:03 am)
Im sorry but he was everything but himself...unless himself means a hendrix tribute artist...
FranciscoBonito (November 19, 2008 at 1:02 am)
Im sorry but I wouldnt consider a cover musician very artistic...wrestling doesnt but the word flair said do...SRV was just that...a cover artist,a guy obsessed with being hendrix and wasnt original, just another guy trying to be hendrix...
